Michelle F. Schwerin is an attorney in the Civil & Criminal Tax Controversy and Litigation and the White Collar Criminal Defense and Internal Investigations Practice Groups at Capes Sokol. A licensed Certified Public Accountant, Michelle focuses her practice on representing individuals and business before the IRS and Missouri Department of Revenue in civil and criminal tax matters and in investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and Missouri Secretary of State. She is a Chair of the Membership Subcommittee of the ABA Section of Taxation’s Civil and Criminal Tax Penalties Committee, is Chair of Professional Ethics & Methods of Practice Committee and serves on the finance committee for the Bar Association of Metropolitan Saint Louis, and serves on the Young Professionals committee of the Missouri Society of CPAs. Michelle was recently recognized as 2017 The Best Lawyers in America, Litigation and Controversy-Tax.
