2010-11 Scholarship Winners

Aspiring CPAs earn scholarships thanks to your contributions!

Congratulations to the 2010-2011 MSCPA Scholarship winners!  More than 450 students applied, leading to an intense competition.  High school winners receive $500 to use toward their accounting education.  College and minority scholarship winners are awarded $1,000.  Congratulations to these outstanding students!

Don Breimeier Memorial Scholarship

Benjamin Castelli earned the sixth annual Don Breimeier Memorial Scholarship for his outstanding achievement in academics and demonstrated leadership.  Originally from Imperial, Ben attends Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.  Ben is pursuing the CPA designation in order to demonstrate his dedication to excellence and client service.

"Personally, the CPA would help me earn the respect of my fellow team members as well as build my confidence and level of expertise.  Professionally, the CPA would broaden my technical skills in order to help me deliver quality service, build stronger client relationships and work effectively with a variety of public and private companies in different industries worldwide."

As the highest-rated 2010-11 applicant, Ben will receive an additional $1000 to the $1,000 he earned this year as a LEAP College Scholarship recipient.  Ben has received the MSCPA LEAP Scholarship twice before.

The Don Breimeier Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of the MSCPA’s executive director from 1965-1993.  He led the evolution of the MSCPA from its humble beginnings to the premiere professional development association for CPAs in Missouri.  He established the foundation for many of the successes the CPA profession enjoys today in Missouri.
