Peer Review Administrative Fees
The MSCPA administers the peer review program for the AICPA, as well as non-AICPA member firms that need to be enrolled in a peer review program to meet the licensure requirements in Missouri. All administrative procedures are performed by the MSCPA.
Administrative fees have been established to cover the costs of managing the program. Some of these costs include:
- postage and printing costs of review forms
- maintaining enrollment information of reviewed firms and reviewers
- obtaining information from firms regarding timing and nature of reviews
- selection and approval of reviewers
- scheduling CART reviews
- verifying information on firm-on-firm reviews
- monitoring reviews through completion
- evaluating workpapers, letters and reports
- evaluating reviewer performance through required oversight
- processing the acceptance of reviews
- verification of enrollment to the Missouri State Board of Accountancy
The administrative fee is determined not only by the number of professionals in your firm, but also on the type of engagements that you perform. The fees range from $180 for sole practitioners that perform only compilations without disclosures and have an engagement review to $345 for firms with over ten professionals who have a system review.
The administrative fees are billed each December. This fee is in addition to the reviewer fees and CART fees, and is determined by the number of professionals in a firm.
