All MSCPA Student Members who are graduating from college May, 2009 and after are eligible to become LEAP Campus Colleagues. Our Campus Colleagues will be those students at each campus who help develop the Missouri Society of CPAs presence on their campuses and in their accounting departments. The LEAP Campus Colleague program is also designed to help student members build leadership, communication and organizational skills.
The
responsibilities would include (but are not limited to) the
following:
- Host a MSCPA staff person at
one of the campus accounting club (Beta Alpha Psi)
meetings.
- Keep up on any career fairs
or meetings where MSCPA could have a presence.
- Promote the LEAP program
with fellow accounting students. (Brochures, fliers, posters,
etc., will periodically be sent. MSCPA would expect the Colleague
to distribute these.)
- The Colleague can also
institute his/her personal marketing plan to expand the MSCPA’s campus
profile.
- Broadening his/her
communication and leadership skills.
- Networking with fellow
accounting students.
- Receiving credit toward
responsibilities for Beta Alpha Psi.
- Gaining free student
membership during the Colleague’s term. The term will be
determined by the student. Once the student has graduated, they
are not longer eligible for the position. MSCPA reserves the right
to terminate a Colleague’s position at any
time.
- Building his/her resume with
the addition of LEAP Campus Colleague.
-
Receiving a gift certificate in appreciation of
your assistance.
