CPA Day 2012
The Missouri Society of CPAs' Legislation and Government Advocacy Committee hosted its annual CPA Day on Tuesday, January 24, and Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Jefferson City.
CPA Day attendees received an update on legislative issues that could impact the profession, their business, or their clients. CPA Day also offered a chance to interact one-to-one with legislators and their staff.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 24 - Capitol Plaza Hotel, Jefferson City
1:30p.m. MSCPA Legislative Briefing: Featuring presentations by these key legislators who will give an in-depth look at 2012 session of the Missouri General Assembly:
President Pro Tem Rob Mayer
Representative Ryan Silvey
Speaker of the House Steven Tilley
Representative Denny Hoskins, CPA
Senator Kurt Schaefer
The briefing also included a review of bills filed, as well as an update on the mega sales tax initiative. Attendees also had time to visit legislators in their Capitol offices.
5:00p.m. Annual Legislative Appreciation Reception: This continues to be a great opportunity for MSCPA members to meet with legislators and their staff in a relaxed atmosphere.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25 - State Capitol Building
7:30a.m. Continental Breakfast for Legislators, Legislative Staff, and MSCPA members
Legislators received a copy of the 2011 Legislators Tax Guide. Fellow tax experts were on hand to answer any tax questions legislators have.
Legislative Visits - throughout the morning.
10:00 a.m. Recognition in Senate and House Chambers
