2008 Women-to-Watch Awards

The Missouri Society of CPAs, in partnership with the American Institute of CPAs Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee and Robert Half International, is looking for women who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession or who demonstrate characteristics that enable them to become leaders in the profession.

These women should demonstrate their ability to promote within the accounting profession a work environment that provides opportunities for the successful integration of their personal and professional life and the advancement of women to positions of leadership.

The third annual Missouri “CPA Women-to-Watch” Awards will be presented at the August 25 Women’s Retreat in St. Louis, where winners will participate in a panel discussion on strategies for achieving success in the accounting profession.

The deadline for all nomination materials is Monday, June 23, 2008.

Award Categories & Selection Criteria:

Experienced Leaders (more than 10 years in the profession and/or has achieved high level position in their organization)

    • Mentoring other professionals*
    • Achievement of an advanced position
    • Public or community service
    • Major or unique contribution to the profession
    • Led workplace improvements 
    • Authorship of articles
    • Membership in both MSCPA and AICPA (required)
      *Graded with a higher weight

Emerging Leaders (less than 10 years in the profession and/or has not yet reached highest levels of advancement in their organization)

    • Demonstration of leadership
    • Contribution to the profession
    • Creation and implementation of unique initiative in the workplace
    • Public or community service
    • Involvement with their alma mater or other local universities
    • Membership in both MSCPA and AICPA (required)

Nomination Process:

  • Complete the nomination form online.
  • Gather supporting documents, including letters of support, resume, biography, and/or relevant articles, as evidence of accomplishments.
  • Send supporting documents to hmoriarity@mocpa.org.  If these materials cannot be submitted electronically, mail or fax the information to:
