Technology Tip of
the Week
Provided by the MSCPA Information Technology Committee
In Excel, Locate Numbers Stored As Text
Numbers
stored as text, or textual numbers, cause problems in Excel. For
example, when the SUM function adds a range that includes text cells, it does
not produce an error message, but nor does it sum the textual numbers: it
simply treats the text cells as zero.
