>  Missouri State Board Of Accountancy Seeks Nominations For James T. Mudd Award

The Missouri State Board of Accountancy is seeking nominations of candidates for the James T. Mudd award. This award is presented annually to a Missouri citizen who through legislation, education, or public service, demonstrated those qualities Mr. Mudd held while advancing the CPA profession.  Formal presentation of this award will be held in January of 2008. To request a nomination form, please send an email to mosba@pr.mo.gov.

More than half of the CPAs surveyed believe businesses and executives should take a leadership role in helping shape public policy on issues including, healthcare, Social Security and the environment.

>New Survey Indicates Majority Plan to Postpone Retirement

For many workers, retirement won’t mean an end to their careers.  Only one in three workers (34 percent) polled said they plan to quit work entirely once they’re ready to retire from full-time employment, according to a just-released survey.
