Robin R. Bell, CPA
Member; Brown Smith Wallace LLC; St. Louis
Robin Bell personifies what it means to be a leader, mentor, and trusted advisor in the accounting community. As a member with Brown Smith Wallace, Bell skillfully strikes a balance between her professional and personal commitments and demonstrates an extraordinary dedication to her profession, her firm, and the community in which she lives.
Bell’s leadership is evident through her role in adopting a customized electronic system that has enabled her firm to go paperless. Furthermore, she frequently offers her accounting expertise to local media, such as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Smart Business magazine, and KSDK, in order to educate the public on topics like tax saving strategies, estate planning, and changes in tax laws.
Bell is committed to the success of those entering the accounting profession. In 2005, she helped initiate the first formal mentoring program at BSW, and currently serves as mentor to four young professionals. Bell’s reach extends beyond her firm to the broader profession through her assistance in devising questions for the CPA exam.
“Without the help of successful professionals like Robin Bell, the industry would not be able to maintain the high level of expertise necessary for success,” says Robert Wyatt, PhD, CPA, director of the Breech School of Business Administration at Drury University. “She is a role model for professional women and an exemplary choice for this award.”
In support of her daughter, Bret, Bell is an active volunteer with Tillman Elementary School and Laura Stream Dance. She also remains involved with the University of Tennessee Alumnae Association and St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers & Accountants for the Arts, as well as serves as chairperson for BSW’s “Denimstrate You Care” corporate giving program.
