CPA Day 2009
The Missouri Society of CPAs' Legislation and Government Advocacy Committee will host the annual CPA Day event on Tuesday, January 20, and Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel and the State Capitol in Jefferson City.
Attendees will be updated on issues that could affect the profession in the new session and interact one-to-one with legislators and their staff.
Here is a sample agenda for 2009:
TUESDAY, JANUARY 20
MSCPA Keyperson Training
11:00 a.m. - Capitol Plaza Hotel
This program is for members intersted in the legislative process who want to do
more to protect the profession by becoming a MSCPA Keyperson.
MSCPA Legislative Briefing
1:00 p.m. --Capitol Plaza Hotel
Featuring key legislative speakers and legislative experts who will take an
in-depth look at the new session.
Review of bills that could have an effect on the profession and your clients.
Legislative Visits at the Capitol
4:00 p.m. -- Legislators offices in the State Capitol Building
Annual Legislative Appreciation Reception
5:00-7:30 p.m. -- Capitol Plaza Hotel
Enjoy cocktails and heavy hors d'vourers with legislators and their staff in a relaxed atmosphere.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21
Continental Breakfast for Legislators and MSCPA members
7:30 a.m. -- State Capitol Building
Meet with legislators and their staff over coffee. Legislators can receive the 2008 Legislators Tax Guide.
Legislative Visits — throughout the morning
10:00 a.m. Recognition on Senate and House Chambers (when session begins)
