MSCPA Keyperson Program
The Missouri Society of CPA (MSCPA) Keyperson Program connects MSCPA members with state legislators in order to promote understanding, provide information, and help enact effective legislation in the state of Missouri. The Keyperson program is bipartisan and works at protecting the profession as a whole.
As an MSCPA keyperson, your role would include:
- Maintaining occasional contact with your legislator. MSCPA would alert you to legislative issues that affect the profession. You will be asked to e-mail or call your assigned legislator and talk to him/her about the profession's position on various bills.
- Serving as a resource. MSCPA would inform your assigned legislator that you are his/her keyperson. The legislators will count on you to help them understand issues related to accounting and call you if they have questions or concerns from their constituents.
The goal of the MSCPA Keyperson program is to have at least two keypersons per legislator.
If you are interested in becoming a keyperson but do not know who your legislator is or you want to know more about the MSCPA Keyperson program, please contact Karen Bauer at 800/264-7966 ext. 144 or kbauer@mocpa.org.
