LEAP Scholarships

Through LEAP, the MSCPA awards scholarships to high school seniors (upon entrance to college) and college students pursuing accounting degrees.  Funding students’ pursuits of accounting degrees sends a clear message that accounting is a valued and critical profession.  LEAP scholarships also encourage students, who might not have otherwise considered accounting, to pursue accounting and CPA licensure.

Scholarships are funded through annual contributions from hundreds of MSCPA members and their firms and companies.

High school students are eligible to receive $500 and college students are eligible to receive $1000.  Below are the criteria for each:

High School:

  • Missouri Resident (or child of MSCPA member)
  • Must be a high school senior during the 07-08 school year
  • Must enroll in at least 12 college course hours at a college/university in Missouri, after high school graduation
  • Must declare accounting degree or its equivalent
College:
  • Missouri Resident (or child of MSCPA member)
  • Must enroll in at least 12 college course hours at a college/university in Missouri
  • Must declare accounting degree or its equivalent

To apply for a LEAP scholarship, go to www.leap-forward.com.

All applicants must complete an application by mid-January.

Winners are selected based on a point system rating their GPA, ACT (for high school students only), essay (content, grammar and vocabulary) and leadership potential (honors, awards and activities).
