VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP OLDER ADULTS
The St. Louis Chapter is looking for volunteers to participate in the Volunteer Money Management Program. The VMMP is an interfaith partnership between Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) and Jewish Family & Children’s Services (JFCS). The program provides money management assistance through individual volunteers to senior citizens living primarily in federally subsidized housing. This is a United Way funded program.
Volunteers must be at least 21 years old to provide individualized, in-home money management assistance for adults 60 years or older living in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
Volunteers help sort, organize, and record monthly bills and statements, reconcile monthly bank statements, and balance checkbooks. Two hours a month are needed to help an older adult remain independent in your community.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call Chapter Member, Ven Houts at 314-378-6139.
