Personal Financial Planning Committee
Committee Mission
Enhance the prominence and skills of the CPA as a financial planner, and promote practice development opportunities in providing personal financial planning services.
Continuing Activities
1) Plan and select speakers for a June Investments Conference and an August Insurance Conference.
2) Counsel with the Director of Professional Development regarding promotional opportunities and special administrative requirements of the PFP Conference.
3) Submit articles monthly for publication in The ASSET regarding opportunities and new developments in personal financial planning.
4) Be represented by the chair or chair-elect, as directed by the President of the Society, at the AICPA sponsored meeting of PFP state chairs and report to the Board of Directors and the committee on the meeting.
5) Make available to the committee and to the general membership updates on the AICPA Personal Financial Specialist program.
6) Offer forum for discussing current legislation directly affecting personal financial planning and report observations to the Legislation Committee.
7) Maintain liaison representatives between state committee and chapter committees.
8) Maintain a liaison representative with the Estate Planning Conference Committee to ensure coordination with its programs.
9) Maintain a public relations liaison representative with the Public Relations Committee to explore and promote personal financial planning exposure.
10) Annually appoint an individual to serve as a liaison to the CPE Curriculum Development Committee in order to help ensure the appropriate scheduling of personal financial planning offerings.
